Singapore, My Home
We are a rare breed. A country so small you cannot even find it on the map. We work hard, effectively bilingual, and probably served 2 years in the military. We know what it takes to earn a place in this world.

Microsoft Office Suite

Where do we go if not for Microsoft? With Word, I have written scripts, research papers, and even grant proposals. With Excel, I have done regression, linear optimization, equity valuation, and - wait, what can you not do with Excel.

Photoshop

There is really nothing I cannot do with this software. Interestingly, this software has been very useful in many business functions. From a sales presentation to social media marketing, we are always communicating visually.
Lightroom

My preferred method to batch process photos. However, I rarely get a chance to use this software nowadays. I started with Capture One Pro, a little more obscure software.

Premiere Pro

Not an editor by training, but I found knowing this software very useful. As a former advertising producer, most campaigns involves some form of video marketing. Having an understanding of post workflow helped me deliver projects on time and on budget.

SPSS

Executed a market research project for Segerstrom Center for the Arts with a sample size of 50, gauging the interest of consumers age 18-35 within OC area in the performing arts. Data was analyzed using SPSS.
HTML & CSS

There’s a funny story with this. After watching the movie Swordfish, I wanted to be a hacker. Picked out the easiest computing book at the library and ending up learning this instead. I was 14. Since then, helped created websites both for myself and clients.
COMMERCIAL PRODUCING

Commercial producing, to me, is simply project management. In this situation, the production of short films, sometimes 30s, sometimes a few minutes or more. From producing commercials and now, short films, I have brought multiple projects in on time and on budget. I have learned that I have a keen ability to manage key stakeholders with strong personalities to achieve a common goal despite differences in working style.
SKILLS: Pitching, Team Management, Cognitive Flexibility, Budgeting & Scheduling, Negotiation
TOOLS: Microsoft Office, Key Note, Google Cloud, Asana, WorkflowMax, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, Apple OS, Xero
RESEARCH & ANALYTICS

Numbers geek me out. It is not some nerd moment but rather, my curiousity with human behavior. Numbers are stories, stories about our customers' journies, behaviors, and desires. I got to learn that young adults like myself, are price sensitive to entertainment offerings, largely due to the myriad options avaliable. This was an insight from my Segerstrom Project. If it is not about customers, numbers on a financial report tell me about the priorities about a business, and much more. I found that the eventual interest rate hike will make Netflix's debt-financed content strategy a possible going concern. This can be found more in my Netflix Valuation Report.
SKILLS: Valuation, Research, Critical Thinking, Data Analysis
TOOLS: Facebook Audience Insights, Google Trends, Excel, SEC EDGAR, SPSS, Bloomberg Terminal
DIGITAL MARKETING

The odd skillsets I have acquired over the decades have suddenly made me, to my surprise as well, a natural fit for this role. I have learned HTML and CSS as a hobby, and having accumulated both design and business knowledge over the course of my education, I found the combination of digital, design, and business crucial to succeed in social media. Most recently, I have used Facebook Audience Insights and Google Trends to build consumer profiles for an upcoming Orchard theatrical release to help the team improve audience targeting. More can be found below.
SKILLS: Visual Design, Digital Literacy, Data Visualization, Statistics

Chess
Chess will always have a special place in my heart. It was in 2001 when I first entered a professional tournament. I remember playing an opponent from a top school, and during the game, he would always walk away after making each move. I lost. That moment, that image, remained in my psyche till this day. I did not like the fact that we were not considered equals just because
we wore different uniforms. Together with my teammates, we trained ourselves through books borrowed from the library (there was no Youtube then), and from funds raised internally, we set up our own chess club. From 2nd last in 2001 to 6th nationally in 2004, chess taught me to never back down even in the face of giants.
ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY
There is something romantic about the analog process. I first picked this up during my undergraduate studies. It was quite a chore then, especially when you move from digital to analog. It was only years later after graduation that I decided to revisit photography. Even though I am on a career trajectory so different from my college degree, keeping in touch
with photography reminds me what it means to create, to express, to use your hands to make something. Nowadays, developing negatives affords me a good 40 minutes of silent meditation. Just the sound of running water and the ticking clock, they provide a sense a relief after a long day’s work.
E-SPORTS
I always think there is a gamer in all of us. You could even break it down to stereotypes: the shooter, the strategist, the farmer, the grower, and the list goes on. My poison is Starcraft, and it all started in a rundown LAN shop in 1997. Even though I rarely play it nowadays, I actively seek out live-streams of the top players that I follow. It was this little “nerdquirk”
of mine that led to the discovery of a whole new underground gaming community. I discovered Twitch, which grew into a live-stream gold rush; every tech company wanted to be the de-facto live-stream platform. Since then, Twitch has been my dinner television. Guess broadcast ain’t dead.
